Anonymous Show 2019 - Open Call for Artist Submissions

In partnership with Hoffa Arts Supplies & Framing

2485 West Railway St. Abbotsford

The Abbotsford Arts Council is now accepting applications for its fifth annual Anonymous Art Show fundraiser. The Anonymous Art Show features art that is submitted anonymously by members of the Lower Mainland community of all ages and skill levels, in a range of diverse styles, subject matters and mediums.

Each piece displayed in the show must be on an unframed 12” x 12” x 1.5” canvas or unframed 12” x 12” x 1.5” wood panel and is priced for sale at $100. Purchased pieces are immediately taken off the wall and given to the purchaser. In their place, a sold tag reveals the previously anonymous artist’s name. The Abbotsford Arts Council then announces each participating artist on their social media platforms as the artwork is sold. Half of the proceeds go to the artist, and the other half stays with the Abbotsford Arts Council to help fund A.A.C. programs such as free community events, exhibition space, arts initiatives, and more.

With the submission of the required pre-stretched canvas purchased from the House of Fine Art, we will include a $5.00 coupon to be used toward a future purchase at HOFA - (2485 West Railway St.)

Applicants may submit their work online or in person starting on April 1st. Accepted artwork is to be delivered to the Kariton Art Gallery between June 11th and June 25th during regular hours (Tuesday-Saturday 11:00-4:00, Sunday-Monday closed). No submissions will be accepted after June 25th.

Anonymous will be on display from June 29, 2019 to July 30, 2019 at Kariton Art Gallery (2387 Ware St.) with an opening reception held on Saturday, June 29th, 2019 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. The show presents a great opportunity for the community to support emerging artists and enables the buyer to take home an artist’s original work at an affordable price.

Application forms are available for download below or at the Kariton Art Gallery. (Hours are Tuesday to Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.)
